From the blogger behind Dessert for Two, a cookbook that inspires couples to get into the kitchen together

Sharing a meal is something most couples love to do; meal-planning programs such as Blue Apron have made it easy and fun to prepare dinner together, too. But home cooks who enjoy homemade food at a reasonable cost really only need a great cookbook, with a friendly voice and delicious recipes, designed to be made and eaten by two. Here is that book. From simple meals to celebratory dinners, comfort food to healthy but hearty options, Dinner Just for Two features 100 dishes, including
  • Bourbon- Glazed Turkey Burgers
  • Creamy Baked Spaghetti for Two
  • Pear Pecorino Pasta
  • Sheet Pan Summer Salmon

Gorgeously designed with more than 100 photographs, Dinner Just for Two is destined to be a classic.

"I've been a longtime fan of Christina's blog, Dessert for Two, and have two of her other books ("Sweet and Simple" and "Dessert for Two") that I can't recommend enough. I was so excited for this to come out and already, it's in such heavy rotation in my home. I love cooking but with just me and my fiance, it feels so wasteful or excessive to cook something that's really meant for 8 people or rush to throw dinner together after work, the gym and then getting home. Christina's recipes are approachable, easy adaptable if you have a special food need (I'm vegetarian, and get so much out of this book), and don't take a ton of time or special ingredients you'll use once or twice. The tortellini soup is already a go-to on super busy nights! I have yet to try a recipe from Christina's books or blog that isn't absolutely amazing or doesn't wow anyone I'm sharing with. Congrats on and thank you for such an amazing book!"

  • I'm really excited to cook from this book! First, when I received it, I was surprised at how big and well made it is (cookbook quality has been declining). I went through all of the recipes and picked out quite a few that I'm excited about making. I'm REALLY happy about the chapter devoted to small batch bread! With only two people in our home, it generally has to be a special occasion for me to make bread so that there will be people around to share it. The small batch is going to be fantastic - we really do throw out more bread than I'd like when I purchase it from the store too. I'm also really excited about the small desserts since I don't like to get "stuck" eating big batches of things and will usually end up taking cakes and cupcakes to work and forcing them on anyone who stops by so that they don't go bad (or we get fat). My menu for the current week was already prepped, but I adjusted next week so that I can try a few things from this book. The broccoli calzones, turkey and apple butter grilled cheese, and bourbon glazed burgers are first up!
  • As the previous reviewer pointed out the quality of this book is great. And I was surprised by the size. 336 pages. It's not spiral-bound. But does lay open by itself. A full 100 pages larger than dessert for two. In addition to the recipes there's a section on economically prepping your pantry. And a section on using leftovers. I cook from the dessert for two and comfort food books A LOT. And I'm looking forward to using this one. When I take leftovers to work people say all the time "That smells good! Where did you get that?" Oh, this sausage stuffed puff pastry? This lasagna? This cinnamon roll? I made them.

"Just because you're not a family of six doesn't mean you don't get to enjoy food!"
  • I have all Christina’s books, and though the dessert ones are my favorite this one is great too. First, it’s a really beautiful book! The recipes are simple enough but the meals aren’t boring. I was excited to see that there’s a little section of desserts for two at the end, but disappointed to see that the dessert recipes aren’t new—they’re recipients from the website, a few of which I’ve made already.

  • This book has it all! We are a family of four, 2 of which are very picky eaters. The portions are perfect for two grown adults plus a little bowl for each toddler. Out of the three recipes I have made so far, I am loving everything I taste and the ease of instruction. You can tell Christina put her heart and soul into every recipe. I especially love the leftovers ideas and the cook once eat twice chapters. This book is full of inspiration and would add so much to your weeknight meal routine.
  • Too much writing and fluff, I just want ideas for two for dinner. Also most have enough ingredients to feed 4 or even 6.
  • As soon as I received this cookbook, I flipped through the entire thing cover to cover. It's a huge, quality book with gorgeous photographs on almost every page. I've already made a handful of recipes (Baked Greek Shrimp, Spaghetti and Meat Sauce, and a small batch of hamburger buns!) and have a growing list of things I want to try. It's the perfect book if you're cooking for one or two, but most recipes can easily be doubled for a night or two of delicious leftovers or if you're cooking for a larger group. The book also includes helpful tips on grocery shopping and stocking your pantry, as well as an index of ways to use up odds and ends so that no ingredient goes to waste. This will be one of my go-to cookbooks!
